Pakistan joins virtual Chinese expo
Pakistan joined the Everlasting China-South Asia Online Expo being held in Kunming in Yunnan Province, China. Over 200 Pakistani companies were featured in the virtual expo.
Pakistani Products including furniture and wood craft; onyx, marble and brass items; leather and fur items; and carpets and rugs, oil painting, jewelry, floral art work, solar energy, sports goods, natural Himalayan rock salt, and fans were showcased in the online exhibition.

Special Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput took the opportunity to invite investors from China and other countries in his speech in the opening ceremony. He talked about investment opportunities in areas of high end textiles, sports goods, engineering goods, gems, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, IT services, and medical technologies including surgical instruments. He also spoke about the Free Trade Agreement between Pakistan and China which would help to boost trade relations between the two countries.

Rajput also took the opportunity to talk about the new developing economic projects in the country. He said that Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are being developed under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said that the SEZs would be an ideal place for relocation of Chinese manufacturing industry and establishment of engineering and automobile industries through joint ventures.
The expo is set to continue till December 18, 2020 with a hope to bring economic growth in the country through trade.
